ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESRecruit, hire, oversee, direct, and supervise the work of, and evaluate the performance of all recreational / activity staff.Trains and develops subordinates to prepare them for promotion and increased responsibility.Meets with activities staff on a regular basis to develop, conduct, and evaluate activities.Establish an active volunteer program which includes recruiting, screening, orienting, training, and supervising volunteers.Conducts, attends, and participates in new hire orientation, training, in-service educations, and staff meetings.Identifies developmental needs and provides and implements developmental plans for staff.Serves as liaison for the center in promoting positive community support and develops methods of utilizing community resources to enhance program opportunities.Ensure all mandatory training is completed on time.Coordinates with the Administrator to arrange for appropriate coverage during periods of absence.Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area, including activity rooms and common areas.Manages time, projects, and records effectively.Attend and actively participate in monthly meetings and other meetings as requested.Routinely evaluates the department's services as part of the center's Quality Assurance and Process Improvement (QAPI) program; resolves all issues pertaining to the QAPI process.Maintains a departmental MSDS notebook.Conduct time studies when requested.
