The Associate Director of Financial Aid (“ADOF”) is responsible for overseeing and completing, in conjunction with appropriate administrative personnel and staff, the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid in accordance with federal and state guidelines and institutional policies. Key responsibilities include conducting statistical analyses, generating reports, and coordinating financial aid audits for internal, federal, accrediting and state agencies. Ensures accurate processing of FA applications and for managing the servicing of all the financial aid through a servicer. Assists in the creation of campus-wide operational policies and procedures that support regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing and conducting entrance financial aid packaging interviews with prospective students
• Ensuring the assembly and completion of financial aid files prior to students starting school including:
• File conflict resolution
• Complete and document resolution of verification
• Analysis of tax forms
• Certify/Guarantee loans
• Entrance/Exit counseling
• Issuing award letters
• Compile and submit data for professional judgment processing
• NSLDS checks/updates/monitoring
• PLUS loan applications
• Keying FAFSA’s
• Keying corrections
• Retrieving credit reports
• Verifying accuracy of enrollment agreements and/or other financial services contracts
• Authorizing new student start files once financial aid criteria are satisfied
• Receive relevant financial aid file contents for pre-approval prior to sending to Global processor
• Retrieving ISIR’s and resolving ISIR conflicts/questions in a timely manner
• Processing and sending batches of approved files to Global processor for approval
• Completing financial aid package on enrollment agreement as needed
• Other steps to ensure full compliance in the processing of student aid
• Staying abreast and communicating changes in all regulations that affect the administration of financial aid Participating in meetings with Admissions to help ensure that all financial aid files are complete prior to orientation, as needed
• Processing and monitoring Financial Aid Awards
• Monitoring timely benchmark payments
• Monitoring files of students whose financial aid packages are not approved when they initially meet benchmark to verify that they are still eligible when they are ultimately approved and initiate steps to request disbursement of funds as appropriate
• Confirm that loan awards made only to students who are actively in attendance and meet all other relevant criteria for eligibility
• Complete cross-over packages and awards timely according to federal and school policy
• Conduct and document Exit Counseling for all students as they leave school
• Participate in/conduct campus-based default management activities to ensure the achievement of company goals
• Complete adjustments as appropriate to reduce the amount of Pell Authorization when Pell awards are changed upward or downward
• Participate in/conduct student orientations, assemblies, exit interview sessions, etc.
• Process financial aid applications for reinstatements and transfer students where proration of financial aid may be necessary
• Manages and maintains the highest standards of ethics and integrity while working with all data regarding the regulatory compliance of entities including state, federal, accreditation, and corporate guidelines
• Provides other functions including supervisory duties as assigned
• Ensuring accurate and complete posting of data including, but not limited to, financial and payment plan data
Education/Experience:
• Exhibits ability to ensure that all policies, procedures, and systems support regulatory compliance, student needs, and the organizational cash flow requirements through thorough and detailed analysis of critical performance outcomes..
• Possess excellent organizational skills
• Ø Maintains complete and accurate “hard” student financial aid files that are organized according to internal filing and recordkeeping protocols
• Process electronic records according to federal and/or processor policy accurately and in a timely manner
• Must be detail orientated with excellent follow up, follow through skills

• Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a Director of Finance or similar position
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations
• Experience in education administration or financial services is a plus
