Job purpose

As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department. Your main focus will be ensuring the delivery of top-notch service to our customers while fostering a positive and cohesive team environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties and responsibilities

* Manage and supervise the service department staff, including technicians, mechanics, and support personnel. * Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulations. * Develop and maintain strong relationships and open lines of communication with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty. * Implement strategies to maximize efficiency and profitability within the service department. * Create and monitor annual service department goals and budget. * Effectively manage the service schedule, ensuring timely completion of work within budget constraints. * Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally. * Maintain proper maintenance and storage of tools, equipment, and materials. * Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the service department staff. * Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional service. * Submit all service, campaign, and warranty claims on time to maximize credit. * Complete necessary training to stay updated on industry trends and best practices. * Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

* Previous experience in a service management role, preferably within the heavy equipment industry or a related field. * Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills. * Ability to effectively manage a team and foster a positive work environment. * Exceptional problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. * Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports. * Capability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities. * Clean driving record.

Working conditions

* Standing, walking, talking, sitting, and use of hands. * This job mostly involves sitting or standing, but there may be occasional tasks that involve lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
