Mercy Ships is seeking an
Accounts Payable Specialist
to serve on-site, at our Headquarters in Lindale, TX. In this position you'll
Compiles and maintains accounts payable records.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Maintains Accounts Payable Vendors for proper authorization and accuracy; ensures compliance with Mercy Ships guidelines as well as Government regulations.
Works in the Accounts Payable main email box to ensure the inbox is maintained properly.
Corresponds with vendors.
Maintains any accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files.
Prepares analysis of accounts, as necessary.
Assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of the current process to streamline workflow; develop, implement, and communicate process improvements; maintain documentation of all accounts payable procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Requirements)

Administrative, organizational and computer skills. Working knowledge of Word and Excel as well as accurate typing skills.
Comfortable with new computer programs, program changes and growth of the company.
Detail oriented and the ability to multi-task. Must be able to define priorities and multi-task.
Individual should exhibit problem-solving skills, as well as customer service/relations skills.
Support organization's mission and vision. Adhere to Mercy Ships Code of Conduct.

Education And Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.
High School diploma required with prior administrative accounting experience.
Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
