The role youll contribute:

The Senior Systems Engineer designs, installs, configures, implements, and supports all aspects of the software environment and/or manages and provides technical guidance and oversight for all aspects of the software process, acting as a point of escalation and technical expert. Mentors team members. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Mentors team members on best practices, standards, and technology. Recommends improvements to processes and technology that improve the effectiveness of the team and the infrastructure.

Performs monitoring, alerting, reporting, and trending. Monitors and assists with the proactive identification and resolution of problems. Assists with the collection of data and establishing facts in order to determine the cause of these problems.

Performs preventative maintenance while providing maximum availability. This includes patching, updates, and/or configuration changes.

Participates in the change control process, as required.

Performs advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Performs capacity management and budgeting.

Performs warranty tracking and maintenance.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR equivalent years of experience in system administration/system engineering

Five years of systems engineering experience in a work environment

Experience supporting a complex environment, with multiple locations and rapidly changing operational and technology changes

Experience comprehending technical manuals and instructions. CIIP experience preferred, required within 6 months if not. PACS experience preferred.

Experience writing technical specifications and creating designs

Experience mentoring and training team members, AND

If AIX:

Experience with AIX management, HMC mgmt., Mksysb, CRON scripting

Experience with EPIC, Sun Quest, and/or TSM application support

Experience with IBM servers and support

If Backup:

Experience with TSM, DPM, AIX, MS Server OS, Active Directory

Experience with Hyper-V or VMware

Experience with Disaster Recovery

If Citrix:

Experience with Virtualization technology, Active directory and domain, database connections, terminal servers, Citrix Xen app, Xen desktop, farms, Zones, Provisioning (High Availability), IIS, Security, Certificates Group Policy, Citrix policy, Citrix workload and balancing, Networking and Xen Server Host (operations, functionality, and clustering)

If Imaging:

Experience with imaging systems in a work environment

Experience installing, configuring, and administering Florida Hospital imaging systems

If Linux:

Experience with RHEL O/S

Experience with RHEL, lamp, tomcat, java, WebSphere, jboss, MySQL, netscaler, Nagios, pearl, python, and kvm

Netscaler security firewalling experience

If Messaging:

Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server OS, Network troubleshooting, and messaging technologies

If Microsoft:

Experience with networking, security, windows clustering, Internet Information Services, and remote access configuration

If Server:

VMware, Hyper-v, and HP server experience

MS server operating systems experience

Experience implementing, managing and supporting relevant equipment

If Storage:

Experience with EMC Storage management, SAN management, and Disaster Recovery
