Description

Seeking Registered Communication Distribution Designers (RCDDs) to produce creative, comprehensive, and efficient designs that minimize waste and inefficiency. RCDDs should be BICSI-certified and will design, integrate, and implement information and communication technology (ICT) and related infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities Provide quality assurance throughout the entire project lifecycle. Participate in on-site walk-throughs and construction turnover milestones related to shell, room, and production readiness Adhere to standards, processes, and procedures while ensuring compliance with all applicable OSHA safety requirements. Coordinate with corporate HR, IT, and administration as needed to accomplish business objectives while meeting legal and compliance requirements Oversee General Contractors (GC) and telecom cabling contractor activities, providing directions to address site-specific construction issues Participate in design coordination and construction meetings with the appropriate internal and external resources. Inform personnel of changes in programs, policies, and procedures Work closely with engineering project teams and field personnel to complete and review projects within scope, budget, and schedule. Perform project tasks within budgeted hours and deadlines. Improve the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of projects Understand typical construction milestones, durations, and schedule logic related to technology and real estate-driven buildouts Working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, and other design programs to create, edit, and update drawings to reflect project changes and as-built drawings Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into physical design and layouts Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner Responsible for forecasts, financial objectives and WIP (Work in Progress) reports. Assess direct and indirect hiring requirements per budget and work with corporate recruiter/staffing partners to fill open positions with qualified candidates. Ensure that training and development needs for new hires are met. Provide coaching, development, and guidance to direct reports and/or team members Cultivate and maintain customer relationships. Communicate structured cabling standards to partners and stakeholders Participate in project-related interviews and discovery, design coordination, and construction meetings with other technology design team members. Translate business requirements into functional technical requirements Interface with General Contractors, mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineers, architectural firms, telecommunication subcontractors, and AV/security integrators throughout the design and build process Add to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Fulfill other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Knowledge Minimum of five years' experience managing integrated structured cabling projects Associate/Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and/or technical training Continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product Strong background in IT service delivery role for multi-vendor cabling, connecting hardware, cabinet, rack, power strip solutions. (i.e., engineering support for projects) Knowledge of Wi-Fi, audio visual and security infrastructure cabling systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook Willingness to travel-estimated at 10% Previous participation in implementation of major IT projects Client interfacing skills Ability to work with all levels of management across different time zones and to maintain a flexible approach to working hours Working knowledge in telecommunications, cable/conduit routing, equipment rack layouts, floor plans and networking projects is strongly preferred Experience utilizing project management software, work sets and project phasing Ability to multitask in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment Ability to thrive in a multi-discipline team setting RCDD preferred
