Additionally, Construction Project Leaders work under the guidance of seasoned Senior Project Superintendents, Project Managers, and Project Executives on each job site, allowing you to acquire new industry skills daily.
You will promote Gilbane's industry-leading safety standards, coordinate the activities of trade contractors, and participate in daily project meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the daily coordination of Gilbane's trade contractors and their subcontractors delivers high-quality work that aligns with the approved project schedule.
- Manage the project budget for general conditions and site services.
- Develop, document, and communicate the work plan regarding field changes.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of contract documents to proactively address potential issues.
- Verify that subcontractors obtain all necessary construction permits.
- Ensure safety compliance across all trades; act as the primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies.
- Conduct maintenance and planning of "work-arounds," shutdowns, and tie-ins.
- Establish credibility among owners, trade contractors, and unions by fostering a fair and trustworthy environment.
- Lead regular contractor meetings.
- Oversee daily reports and documentation using Procore.
- Create, manage, and update the project schedule; develop and implement contingency plans as needed.
- Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the Project Team and Trade Contractors.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics.
- Oversee the project quality plan and implement necessary adjustments.
- Resolve jurisdictional disputes.
- Assist in the development of the project team.
Experience/Education:
BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
10+ years of experience on a $50+ million commercial/industrial construction project or multiple projects in a superintendent capacity.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong technical and communication skills.
Excellent organizational capabilities.
Outstanding problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing needs.
Ability to thrive in a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore.
Must be literate in construction documents and drawings, with knowledge of all construction phases.
Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes with the ability to enforce the project safety plan.
Must create an environment where "safety first" is the culture, ensuring all tradespeople work with an incident and injury-free mindset.
Must have experience supervising a project team.
OSHA 30-hour certified.
Salary will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.
