Description:

The production engineer position is split into 4 primary responsibilities: Capital Projects (35-40%), Troubleshooting (10%), downtime/quality investigations (20-30%), and Tooling Design/Design for Manufacturing (10%). Within capital projects they will be focused on identifying areas to reduce headcount and automate further. For troubleshooting anytime the line has an issue they will support if maintenance cannot correct. For tooling design they will design tooling welding from prints provided by the new product development team.

The candidates hired for this role will split their time between project management responsibilities and hands on troubleshooting of the equipment. From a project standpoint, they will be responsible for a specific project assigned to them where they may have to work with vendors/suppliers, manage new launch activity, perform machine builds/installation, downtime reduction, etc. When issues arise at the plant that neither Maintenance or Quality teams can support the PE group will assist in troubleshooting or repairing the equipment/processes. When supporting their projects the candidates will do design for manufacturing work. This includes tooling, fixtures, machines, etc to support the projects they are working on using CATIA

Must Haves

1. Bachelors in Engineering required

2. Relevant Internship for 2 years and graduating or 2+ years of relevant experience post graduation.

3. Robotic Welding or Assembly or Paint or Injection Molding experience from a manufacturing employer

4. Tooling/Fixture Design experience - Design for Manufacturing

5. Mechanical Aptitude

6. Project management- Experience leading a plant or capital project or participating in a capitial expendature
