Position Overview
We are currently searching for an experienced Shipping and Inventory Manager for our Shipping and Receiving department based out of our Lake Forest location. The ideal candidate is a capable self-starter who is resourceful in solving problems with minimal direction and thrives in a challenging yet fun environment.
What you’ll be doing
Oversee shipping and logistics for facilities.
Managing daily shipping operations to maximize productivity and meet daily operational goals.
Lead the efforts to develop and refine inventory control processes.
Manage all inventory operations including but not limited to counting, receiving, down stock transfers, daily audits, full inventory counts, and monthly short-dated checks.
Monitors and maintains inventory ensuring data is entered accurately in the company’s WMS and other related systems.
Coordinating warehouse activities in distribution processes in an effective and efficient manner to satisfy internal and external customer service.
Coordinates with management, purchasing, and department heads to ensure inventory is not prematurely depleted, and that there is transparency regarding status of inventory.
Assist warehouse with system updates. Supervise picking and packing of orders.
Creates and maintains organizational systems, policies, and procedures to store and distribute inventory.
Ensure all department employees are properly trained in work related and safety procedures per company guidelines. Maintain a safe and hostile free working environment for the entire department staff. Motivate employees to increase levels of morale, productivity, and quality of work.
Ensure outbound department operations are safe, organized, and in compliance with internal, local and domestic rules and regulations.
Monitor department and individual production numbers to meet budget guidelines and warehouse goals. Provide cost-saving measures and suggestions to management.
Develop team leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their roles. Responsible for ensuring team leaders train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate performance of their team members.
Collaborate with procurement staff to process expected deliveries.
Evaluate team performance and develop performance improvement plans.
Must perform duties consistent with guidelines.

Is this role for you?
High School diploma or GED equivalent. AS/BS/BA degree is a plus.
3 – 5 years' experience in warehouse operations / distribution.
Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience in a distribution environment (piece picking, small package, and LTL shipping).
Strong operating knowledge of at least one world class WMS (SAP EWM preferred, but other possibilities include JDA, Manhattan, Oracle, etc.
Experience in NetSuite preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
Must have extreme attention to detail, assuring warehouse is operating effectively and immaculate.
Must be dependable with ability to multi-task and work effectively in a team environment.
Must be able to train and direct warehouse staff.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Team members must have good attendance, the ability to show up and be on time to scheduled shifts and be able to complete their full shift.
Must be able to work M-F from 8a – 5p.
