Shipping & Receiving Clerk for tool & die company located in the Lake Forest CA area. Great opportunity with a stable company. This position is primarily responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.

Temporary to Hire opportunity. first shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.  This position is full-time, 40 hours/week. Paying $18-22/hr, depending on experience. Company will complete a full background check prior to start.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize Shipping & Receiving duties depending on order of importance and urgency.
  • Will be working in a fast-paced environment and will need to keep up the pace while paying close attention to detail.

Shop/Storage Area:

  • Conveys material and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Fills work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens all types of containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within shop to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets for customer specifications.

Shipping and Receiving Area:

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against purchase orders or other records.
  • Affixes labels on packed bags identifying shipment information.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to their specified destination.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping material and supplies.
  • Scans product for material type with XRF gun.
  • Perform receiving inspections based on product criteria.

Requirements:

  • Min 2 year Shipping & Receiving experience.
  • Receiving inspection when vendors comes in with materials.
  • Inventory Control background.
  • Must be Forklift Certified.
  • Creativity, Initiative and the ability to work independently is a MUST.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and General Order Processing Systems. ERP experience is a Plus
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Essential duties require frequent reaching above shoulder level, standing, walking, and manual dexterity for handling small objects.
  • Average lifting is up to 50lbs.
  • In this position, employees are exposed to noise, dust and fumes, and working around moving machinery.
