TheAccounting Manageris responsible for providing strategic leadership and accountability for all responsibilities related to the position as outlined below in accordance with Ellis Park Racing & Gaming (the "Company") policies and procedures.

FUNCTION

The Accounting Manager plays an instrumental role in the accurate and timely completion of the daily operations audits and supports the property Finance/Accounting function.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises policies, procedures, and regulations regarding audit and compilation of revenue and reporting requirements and General Applied Accounting procedures (GAAP).
  • Reviews work generated by revenue auditors and prepares journal entries necessary to book revenue to the general ledger.
  • Reviews source documents for compliance with minimum internal control standards and company policies and verifies transactional detail for gaming and non-gaming areas when necessary.
  • Investigates unusual occurrences and is responsible for the entire exception documentation/notification process.
  • Manages a team of auditors, conducting necessary reviews, discipline, and scheduling of team and duties.
  • Supports Senior Director of Finance in their role and prepared to assume duties in their absence.
  • Develops and mentors direct reports preparing them for future growth opportunities within the organization.
  • Will occasionally participate in property-wide projects/initiatives, collaborating with operators and senior leaders.
  • Coordinates/Facilitates training on gaming and non-gaming revenue audits and identifies opportunities for remedial training.
  • Oversees Month-end close process, including balancing monthly audit numbers, reviewing and researching P&L variances.
  • Support Finance/Accounting by performing regular and ad hoc journal entries, reports, and operations/financial analysis.
  • Performs related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Drives process improvements and implements department initiatives.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
  • Competency demonstrated in leading the Revenue Audit team and assigned duties.
  • Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of Revenue Audit and Month-End checklist items.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an audit, accounting, or analytical position required.
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
