POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the month-end close associated with an assigned workstream. The assigned workstream can be one of the following, subject to change based on need: capital, cash, contract services, SWBCL, non-income tax, rent/leases/R&M, all other and corporate/shared services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in month-end close process for assigned workstream.
  • Prepare, review and analyze various journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activity.
  • Assist Manager, Accounting or Director, Accounting with monthly account analytics for leadership.
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules for annual audit performed by external auditors.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required, BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum five years of accounting experience required
  • Hands-on experience with ERP
  • Experience in Microsoft tools required: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Healthcare and corporate office experience preferred
  • Lawson and ImageNow system experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge in general ledger.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of constant deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Ability to lead different projects at one time.
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the Company.
  • Ability to make decisions and communicate those decisions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
