THE ROLE\r

The Durational Planning Analyst is a key memberof UniteCT, a team dedicated to fostering strong community relations and enhancing public awareness of the Department's initiatives. This role demands a dynamic individual with a passion for community outreach, social media proficiency, and the ability to translate complex program data into engaging, understandable content for diverse audiences.

In addition, the successful incumbent will be accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in planning, monitoring, and evaluating community programs. Some travel will be required. The Durational Planning Analyst will report to the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Housing.\r

The Department of Housing, as the lead agency for housing matters for the State of Connecticut, is responsible for the creation of environmental review records for more than ten (10) federal grant programs associated with affordable housing and community development activities.

\r\r MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Six (6) years of experience in planning\rincluding developing written long term plans broad in scope and having impact\ron a number of operations.\r\r\rNOTE:Planning is defined as collecting and\ranalyzing technical data (social, environmental, economic, governmental),\rdetermining problems and concerns, and developing long-term plans accordingly.\rThese are formal, written plans, i.e., statements of goals and objectives,\rrecommended alternatives for action, and policies and programs to achieve the\rgoals and objectives. Generally, these plans will impact statewide activities\ror a large-scale corporation which has branch or satellite facilities.\rCandidates must often perform these types of duties the majority of time and\rthe planning function must be the major thrust of the job.\r\r MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED \r

College training may be\r

substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester\r

hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4)\r

years for a Bachelor's degree.\r

A Master's degree in\r

planning, public administration or a closely related field may be substituted\r

for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.\r

Successful completion of\r

a Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of\r

Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.\r\r PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \r

Experience in community engagement activities and outreach that involves meeting with clients.\r

Experience in community-based research that includes creating surveys, hosting focus groups and reporting data analysis from survey responses.\r

Experience in marketing, communication, and social media platforms that include Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.\r

Experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\r
