With more than 120,000 acres, the system includes 124 developed parks, including 19 marine parks, 11 historical parks, 35 heritage sites, 13 interpretive centers and approximately 500 miles of long-distance recreation trails. Washington State Parks is seeking a Customer Service Representative based at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. The ideal candidate is adaptable, ready to work across the King and Snohomish areas, and possesses basic graphic design skills to create engaging park communications. Your role is key to ensuring smooth operations and event management within the State Park system. Responsibilities: The Customer Service Specialist 2 for the Cascade Foothills Area, independently performs a variety of duties defined by the Area manager. This position provides day-to-day customer service and helps facilitate guest usage of area facilities while ensuring the safety and welfare of the park visitors. Assists the Program Specialist 2 in processing and administering Special Activity permits, group reservations, film permits, and other event-related work per agency policy and procedures. Provides customer service functions at area parks including pass and PIA sales, processing reservations, and responding to visitor communications. Creates and distributes customer service-related communications materials in the management area such as informational postings to help customers find what they need and who they need to contact. Required Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent and two (2) years of customer service experience. OR Six (6) months cumulative experience as a Park Aide or equivalent. OR Twelve (12) months in a special employment program (i.e., WCC) with a parks or natural resource agency. A valid, unrestricted (other than corrective lenses) driver's license. Additional Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge: Effectively handle and organize multiple assignments and competing priorities. Make sound decisions to produce accurate and timely work products. Focus on tasks in spite of distractions and interruptions. Using computers, including all associated hardware and software. Adapt through continual learning to new/updated computer software and hardware. Working Conditions: Hours worked at 40 hours per week. Work schedule may be adjusted seasonally to address area business needs. This position works both in-office and in-field with routine travel to parks within the area (a state vehicle will be provided for travel).
