The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission oversees one of the largest and most diverse park systems in the nation, encompassing over 120,000 acres across 124 developed parks, including marine and historical sites. Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage a variety of tasks as defined by the Area Manager.
  • Provide daily customer service to enhance guest experiences while ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist in the administration of Special Activity permits, group reservations, and event-related processes.
  • Handle customer service functions, including sales and reservations, while responding to visitor inquiries.
  • Create and distribute informative materials to guide customers in utilizing park resources effectively.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of customer service experience. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with six months of experience as a Park Aide or a year in a relevant employment program.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and produce timely, accurate work.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and adaptability to new technologies.

Working Conditions:
This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with potential seasonal adjustments to meet operational needs. Employees will work both in-office and in-field, with travel to various parks within the area.

Uniform Requirement:
All Customer Service Specialists are expected to wear a uniform, promoting a professional image and respect for the organization.
