We are seeking an **_Arts Initiative Administrator _**who will play a critical role in supporting the newly formed Taskforce on the Arts at Johns Hopkins University. This taskforce aims to develop a university-wide strategic vision for the arts, elevating the visibility of the arts as a core strength and essential component of our global institution. Reporting to the Senior Advisor for the Arts in the Provost's Office, the administrator will provide in-depth research, writing, and analytical support to the taskforce leadership and members in the form of briefings, memos, literature reviews, presentations and other written materials. The position will also manage a Sr. Administrative Coordinator for the Taskforce on the Arts.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on the current state of arts programs, resources, and offerings across Johns Hopkins University and its various divisions.
- Benchmark and analyze arts initiatives and best practices at peer institutions.
- Prepare in-depth memos, briefings, presentations, and other written materials for the Provost, Senior Advisor to the Provost for the Arts, and senior leadership.
- Communicating complex information in clear, precise, and compelling prose.
- Ensure all materials are accurate, fact-checked, and proofed to the highest standards.
- Develop and maintain contacts with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders to gather input and insights for the taskforce's work.
- Monitor and analyze developments and trends in arts education, programming, and cultural initiatives to inform the taskforce's strategic recommendations.
- Provide writing and research support for the taskforce's interim and final reports, including drafting sections and synthesizing input from various sources.
- Manage and mentor the Sr. Administrative Coordinator, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to support their professional growth and skill development.
- Assign and prioritize tasks and projects based on evolving taskforce needs.
- Review work products like meeting materials, schedules, and event logistics to ensure excellence.
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and identify relevant training opportunities.
- Oversee and direct the coordinator's day-to-day responsibilities in supporting the logístical and administrative needs of the taskforce.
- Model strong project management practices.
- Ensure adherence to university policies and procedures related to administration.
- Foster a collaborative working relationship built on mutual trust and respect.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Advisor to the Provost for the Arts.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree in the Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences, or a related field
- Three (3) years related experience in high-level policy research, project management, or communications environment
- Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's Degree
- Experience conducting formal research and writing and drafting memos and briefs
- Experience providing research support to senior faculty members, policymakers or private sector leaders strongly preferred
- Experience producing research reports/papers
