Youth Safety and Violence Prevention (YSVP) is seeking an** Executive Director** that is experienced in Community Violence Intervention (CVI) implementation. CVI is an approach that uses evidence-informed strategies to reduce violence through tailored community-centered initiatives.
The CVI approach includes or employs:
- Trusted, credible messengers and practitioners, to deliver key intervention elements.
- Representatives of the affected communities as full partners who provide input and guidance on the intervention’s approach.
- A focus on those individuals at the highest risk of experiencing or perpetrating community violence in the near term.
The Executive Director of Youth Safety and Violence Prevention will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Y’s primary, secondary, and tertiary violence prevention programs, including the Street Intervention Program. The Executive Director will develop deep knowledge of the field, core programs, operations, and business plans.
The Executive Director of Youth Safety and Violence Prevention works closely with the Human Services Business and Compliance Officer and the Director of Operations and collaborates with the Senior Director of Programs, and Executive Directors of the Membership Centers.
**_ Salary range for this position is $95,000- $135,000 per year with full-time benefits_**

**Scope of Responsibilities**:
- Experience working in high-risk communities and with high-risk individuals.
- Knowledge of local community resources (services providers, programs).
- Has an understanding of trauma-informed practice and is able to incorporate this approach in day-to-day operations.
- Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence and reliable reporting and accountability systems necessary to demonstrate program impact, attract resources, and achieve strategic goals
- Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress and regularly evaluate program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated
- Maintain financial controls in line with approved budgets
- Direct all activities related to Youth Safety and Violence Prevention, achieving all projected outcomes
- Serve as the Human Services Emergency Preparedness liaison to the Association, assisting in the development of procedures and protocols to effectively address emergency situations
- Ensure compliance, safety, and security of all program participants
- Monitor and evaluate crime conditions on a continuing basis in the areas surrounding the Centers and school-based programs and implement safety/safe passage programs as needed
- Meet with Association staff, Chicago Public School personnel, Chicago Police Department, community members, and other stakeholders to discuss safety concerns that impact the Association and its programs
- Actively engage and energize public and private partnering organizations, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Hire, lead, coach, develop and retain a high-performing staff, conduct in-service training/staff development to improve skill and proficiency, and provide access and structure for their professional development
- In conjunction with the Chief Development Officer, prepare proposals and grants and secure program funding.
- Provide oversight and ensure appropriate legal review of all agreements and commitments, including service level agreements, subcontractors, and employment contracts where appropriate.
- Strategic about promoting the brand of YSVP and building relationships with potential partners.
**Minimum and Preferred Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; graduate degree preferred; at least seven years of professional experience in youth safety and violence prevention, with three of those in a team management role
- Demonstrated success in developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
- Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems
