We are proud to partner with the National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) to find a highly skilled and dedicated Executive Director to lead their organization.

Job Summary

The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of NAVS, ensuring the organization's mission is fulfilled through effective programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve NAVS' mission and goals.
    • Lead the organization's senior management team and ensure effective communication and collaboration among staff.
    • Make key decisions on organizational direction, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Financial Management
    • Oversee the development and implementation of the organization's budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
    • Manage financial resources, including grants, donations, and investments.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement effective programs to achieve NAVS' mission and goals.
    • Collaborate with staff, board members, and stakeholders to ensure program success.
    • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
  • Community Outreach and Engagement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community leaders.
    • Represent NAVS at conferences, events, and meetings, promoting the organization's mission and goals.
    • Engage with the public through various channels, including social media, to promote NAVS' work and mission.
  • Human Resources
    • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and development of staff, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
    • Manage staff performance, providing coaching and support as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with HR regulations and policies.
  • Board Governance
    • Work closely with the board of directors to ensure effective governance and decision-making.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to the board on organizational progress and challenges.
    • Collaborate with the board to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • Proven track record of leadership and management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
    • Experience working with boards of directors and building strong partnerships with stakeholders.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission and goals to diverse audiences.
