Information Technology Services Volunteer

**Volunteer Summary**
The TechQuest: Empowering Future Innovators high school volunteer program will provide valuable learning opportunities and exposure to different areas of the technology industry as outlined below:

- Participate in IT meetings and discussions regarding technology and cybersecurity.
- Assists with the setup of computers and other office equipment for employees; supports the installation of standard software; and help resolve common hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Shadows computer systems support work in a help desk setting.
- Observing the implementation of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) software.
- Observes routine code and debugs software.
- Participates in cybersecurity incident detection analysis and prevention.
- Shadows other programs as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Education**
- Must be a current high school student between the ages of 16 to 18.
- Must possess good standing high school academic records.

**Qualifications**
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships at all organizational levels, including agency management, direct supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand, follow and convey brief oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to comply with all agency policy and applicable laws.
- Ability to comply with all applicable safety rules, regulations, and standards.

**Computer Skills**
- Proficiency in the use of a computer and applicable software necessary to perform work assignments e.g., word processing, spreadsheets (Microsoft Office preferred).

**Other Requirements**
- Regular and punctual attendance at the workplace.
- Criminal background check.

**Working Conditions**
- Frequent use of computers, copiers, printers, and telephones.
