Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of Information Technology for our client, a wonderful nonprofit organization that serves Central Texas youth, families, and communities Based in Austin, the Director of IT will oversee the organization’s operational and strategic technology needs; working with internal team, external vendors, and users to ensure technology is being utilized well, is secure, and operates efficiently This is a full time, direct hire, hybrid opportunity.

  • Compensation range is $110-115k, depending on experience


What you will be doing:

  • Manage and grow effective IT team
  • Develop an IT Roadmap that aligns with organizational needs, including working with stakeholders and technology evaluation for improvement
  • Oversee Security; setting policy and procedures what adhere to best practices, addressing cybersecurity threats, and systems/disaster recovery
  • Ensure technical operations, including internal and external facing systems are working efficiently; resolving issues as they arise
  • Data and Reporting; identify KPIs and systems for tracking/reporting; including related to fund and donor development, communications lists, financial reports, and more


What you will need:

  • 10+ years in information technology; a broad, high level understanding of all IT infrastructure components including networking, cloud based infrastructure, servers and services; data backup and security, applications, etc.
  • 5+ years in leadership/management
  • Must be able to work onsite/hybrid in Austin
  • Experience in leading IT Strategy in a non-profit environment
  • Demonstrated experience planning, creating, and executing an IT budget
  • Experience leading cross functional, complex IT projects and initiatives
  • Experience in nonprofit, foundational, or philanthropic areas preferred
  • Experience in software and tools including Office 365 (Sharepoint, Teams), Asana, Zendesk preferred
  • Experience with reporting/data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc) preferred
  • BS in IT related field preferred, or equivalent experience
