**Position Title: Substance Use Counselor**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide structured treatment services for adults, children, and adolescents in the Intensive Outpatient Program.
- Conduct Multidimensional Assessments for participants.
- Collaborate with licensed addiction treatment professionals to develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
- Offer individual, family, and group psychotherapy as outlined in the ISPs.
- Deliver occupational and recreational therapies, motivational interviewing, and engagement strategies to foster

behavioral change.
- Connect participants with community resources, including psychiatric services.
- Maintain coordination with outside treatment providers.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with other professionals.
- Offer psycho-pharmacological consultation when necessary.
- Be available for 24-hour emergency services.
- Utilize therapeutic relationships to promote positive skills and behaviors in participants.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Proficiency in mental health disorders, counseling techniques, and evaluation of psychological problems.
- Advanced understanding of individual and group behavior, particularly related to ongoing recovery.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent developmental stages and mental disorders.
- Ability to evaluate, design, and implement therapeutic day treatment program components.
- Demonstrated skill in management and supervision.
- Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills, including proficiency in EMRs, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse populations.
- Competence in public speaking and counseling.
- Comfort conducting visits in participants' homes, regardless of personal living standards.
- Access to necessary equipment (computer, printer, internet, etc.) for program documentation.
- Effective teamwork abilities.
- Willingness and capability to operate a 15-passenger van.

Job Requirements:

- Minimum one year of experience in substance misuse treatment and mental health counseling.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ownership of an insurable and registered vehicle.
- Credentialed Addiction Treatment Professional (CSAC) acting within their scope of experience.

Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) Requirements:

- One year experience working in the substance misuse treatment field.
- One year experience working in the mental health counseling field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience providing individuals and diverse populations.
- Excellent, verbal, written and computer skills; EMRs, MS Word, and MS Excel preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
