**GENERAL SUMMARY**:
Provide professional and courteous service to all while overseeing day to day operations of the

Searle Visitor Center.

**RESPONSIBILITES**
- Possess strong guest service skills and be able to extend those to staff, volunteers and vendors. Provide solutions and recovery relating to requests, comments and complaints.
- Oversight of day to day operations at the Searle Visitor Center. Adherence to completing time sensitive tasks is a priority.
- Role player in Emergency situations and must have the ability to remain calm and communicate effectively. Safety is always the number one priority.
- Be proficient in Point of Sale transaction process’ and platforms and record &
submit necessary reports.
- Facilitate training of staff and volunteers in day to day Searle Visitor Center operations.
- Be knowledgeable of daily on grounds activities and provide support when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment and follow process for repairs and or services needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS**
- Organized and detail oriented with the ability work in a fast-paced environment. Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in presenting a pleasant, service-orientated persona. Skilled in effectively resolving difficult guest service matters.
- Able to exercise sound judgment in emergency situations and respond with appropriate action.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse groups and interact courteously and respectfully with supervisors, fellow employees, volunteers, and general public.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to represent Lincoln Park Zoo in a professional manner at all times.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to position demands and changes.

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
- POS and office management experience preferred

**NOTE: A comparable combination of education, experience, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skills, and ability required may qualify an individual.**

**PHYSICAL and VISUAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Must be able to perform physical and visual activities that are commonly associated with the functions of this job: Standing for long periods of time, walking for long periods of time, sitting for long periods of time, ability to work alone for long periods of time, ability to work in a small confined space, ability to work with mild cleaning supplies.

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS_**:

- Must be able to work in environmental/atmospheric conditions normally associated with the functions of this job: Indoor conditions including noise, odors, dust and mechanical/electrical hazards; Outdoor conditions including hot and cold temperatures, precipitation._

**AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS**

Must be available to work weekends and holidays, including working early and late hours. This is a full time position.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Proof of Covid 19 vaccination.

**JOB RATE**
- $24hr.
