To support our mission, we are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our CA team in greater Los Angeles.

NWF’s #SaveLACougars campaign is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support its volunteer program, with principal responsibility overseeing the docent program leading public tours at the site of the in-progress Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing. The Volunteer Coordinator will ensure that volunteers are well-informed, engaged, and effectively deployed. Overall, the Volunteer Coordinator helps ensure the volunteer program is successful meeting its goals to engage, educate, and serve the community and foster appreciation for wildlife coexistence and connectivity.

**Principle Duties (major areas of responsibility)**:

- Oversee the volunteer docent program leading public tours at the site of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and scheduling docents for regular tour assignments based on knowledge of docents’ abilities, preferences, and tour audience; providing on-site supervision for all docent tours; developing guidelines for conducting tours, presenting complex information, and handling special needs of individuals and groups; and develops, together with the Deputy Director, criteria for assessing docent performance.
- Coordinate the functions of all volunteers for the #SaveLACougars campaign, including docents. Provide guidance, assistance, and leadership to volunteers
- Recruit and manage volunteers, maintain records, ensure compliance with all program requirements, communicate with volunteers, connect volunteers to opportunities
- Coordinate all administrative and operational aspects of training; maintain training schedules and manage logistics of training and volunteer communication meetings and workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, community engagement, and public outreach
- Knowledge of and skill in developing interpretive and educational public programs for volunteers to deliver to visitors
- Extraordinary communications and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with volunteers and with members of the public
- Knowledge of and dedication to the mission of the #SaveLACougars campaign and the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing
- Strong organizational skills

**Travel Requirements**:
