**ABOUT THE POSITION**

The Communications Specialist job is a junior-staff position that supports all aspects of Efficiency Maine’s public information and outreach activities and initiatives. The Communications Specialist will help create and execute various communications strategies and tactics to ensure the overall success of Efficiency Maine and its programs. It offers professional development opportunities that provide the training, mentorship, and experience necessary to become a Communications Manager.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000

**MORE ABOUT THE POSITION**

Sample tasks include:

- Serve as a Communications Team liaison for assigned program teams.
- Draft blog posts on topics that support program initiatives and campaigns.
- Support the development of collateral and marketing materials, including monthly mailings to rebate recipients, brochures, flyers, posters, case studies, and advertisements for all media types (print, digital, and broadcast).
- Assist with organizing in-person and virtual special events, including press conferences, annual gathering, seminars, webinars, symposia, and special meetings.
- Support the development of videos, including case studies.

Essential Skills:

- Communications - Ability to observe, ask relevant questions, and listen intently to gain actionable insights; Ability to speak, write, and present effectively; Ability to communicate technical information to a broad range of readers.
- Project management - Ability to develop plans with clear tasks, assignments, and due dates; gain buy-in from participants and keep projects on schedule.
- Problem-solving - Ability to identify and assess problem situations, identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and resolve problems.
- Teamwork - Ability to foster teamwork and establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the organization's goals and build a culture of customer service.
