Children's Bureau of Southern CA proudly is committed and supportive of complete pay transparency. The position of Wraparound Parent Partner will pay $19.24/hour.

Additionally, the lifespan compensation range of this position is: $19.24/hour -$22.60/hour.

**Learn more about the Job**:
The Parent Partner is responsible for providing direct support services to the families and children in the Wraparound program. Due to their lived experience Parent Partner assists the family in learning communication skills, educates the family on how to navigate through various systems, and teaches advocate skills. Assists the Facilitator and Child and Family Specialist with family and community engagement, advising on parent and family concerns within the Child and Family Team Meetings.

**Responsibilities**:
Under supervision of the Program Manager.
- Implements knowledge of the caregiver or parent and family's underlying needs, strengths, culture, preferences, and goals to provide individualized interventions, community linkages and resources to support the caregiver and family to reach their desired outcomes.
- Provides first-hand knowledge about navigating various systems including, but not limited to, the Child Welfare System, Probation, etc. because of having lived experience.
- Ensures that the parent's culture, beliefs, experience, voice, and choice are heard by the team and incorporated into services.
- Guides the Wraparound team in having a better understanding of the parent's and or caregiver's perspective.
- Models appropriate parent participation in the CFT meetings.
- Helps CFT members understand the parent's or caregiver's role within the household and as the child's or youth's caretaker.
- Encourages parents and or caregivers to listen to other CFT members, especially the child or youth.
- Assists parents and or caregivers to build supportive connections within their community.
- Provides parents with the necessary advocacy and networking skills to be self-sufficient and equipped to better deal with future challenges.
- Educates parents on how to successfully navigate systems (education, health, juvenile justice, community resources, etc.) to ensure that they can appropriately advocate for their children or youth.
- This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employee will also perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the Wraparound Manager or his/her designee as needed.

Experience
- Biological or adoptive parent of a child with special needs.
- Experience and/or involvement with either the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Child and Family Services, or Probation.
- Parent Partners must not have an open probation/DCFS case for at least one year (1).
- Complete the basic Wraparound Training, IHBS/ICC
