**POSITION PURPOSE**:
Under the direct supervision of the Procurement Manager, the Food Rescue Coordinator performs a wide variety of routine to moderately difficult responsible and specialized administrative functions in support of the San Diego Food Bank’s donors and operations; and performs other related duties as assigned.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for overseeing daily functions of the San Diego Food Bank’s Fresh Rescue program, which entails the following sub-programs: Fresh Rescue (retail donors) and Meal Rescue (prepared food donors).
- Onboard, train, and certify new Fresh Rescue donors and agencies.
- Oversee the day-to-day relationships between Fresh Rescue donors and agencies, including but not limited to overseeing monthly reporting habits, handling daily questions or concerns on behalf of agencies and/or donors in a timely fashion, updating donor and agency records via Microsoft Excel and Primarius, and facilitating Fresh Rescue training for both donors and agencies.
- Conduct visits to Fresh Rescue donors throughout San Diego County.
- Participate and represent the San Diego Food Bank’s interests and positions in local TAC groups pursuant to SB1383, under the supervision of the Procurement Manager.
- Maintain donor, agency, and donation records to ensure compliance with SB1383 reporting and record-keeping requirements.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the types of commodities that are needed by the SDFB, and how they are utilized by the partnered nonprofits that are responsible for distributing the products and the populations they serve.
- Conduct site visits to food donors throughout San Diego County.
- Assist with facilitation of any donations to the SDFB and NCFB warehouse locations, including but not limited to: items eligible for donation from the general public, directions to SDFB/NCFB warehouse locations, donation drop off hours, donation delivery scheduling information (when applicable) warehouse receiving contact person, and warehouse receiving hours.
- Responsible for overseeing the daily functions of Food Drives, including but not limited to: managing and maintaining the schedule of Food Drive participants, processing Food Drive registrations, scheduling Food Drive logistics with the Operations Department, updating the Donation Drop Off page on the San Diego Food Bank website, assisting Food Drive donors/coordinators with Food Drive needs, and tracking all Food Drive activity.
- Responsible for working under direct supervision of the Procurement Manager in order to properly execute annual and one-off Food Drive events, including but not limited to: National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive, Vons/Albertson’s Summer Food Drive, Neighbors Helping Neighbors/Scouting For Food Food Drive, Feds Feed Families Food Drive, Grocery Outlet Independence From Hunger Food Drive, Colleges Rock Hunger Food Drive, MLK Food Drive, and the Vons/Albertson’s Holiday Food Drive.
- Participate in planning and executing annual Food Drive events and campaigns, in conjunction with the Events, Communications & Marketing, and Operations teams.
- Assist in organizing and executing the Annual Food Drive Recognition Ceremony for top Food Drive supporters and participants.
- Assist with data entry of: donor information, incoming Food Drives and donations, direct mail, and register new donors as required. The position must be able to enter data into Primarius Database and send out thank you correspondence to all concerned.
