**Short Description**
The *position* ensures that research within Addiction Medicine is promoted, facilitated and conducted in an ethical manner. This position is key in identifying, recruiting, and interacting with patients as well as maintaining and supervising study personnel engaged in research projects. The *position* corresponds with Cooper University Health Care, CMSRU and external programs including sponsors and funders. This role is essential in maintaining study conduct, creating protocols, submission of regulatory documents, preparation and ethical conduct of studies by residents/faculty while being responsible for completing and reviewing study documents for compliance with the IRB, Cooper University Health Care, CMSRU, Sponsor and FDA requirements.
- Executing research study protocols from conception to completion. Overseeing all investigators and research staff are properly meeting protocol requirements in order to successfully fulfill research goals.

Correspondence with investigators, research members, external agencies, industry sponsors, and cooperative groups to ensure active engagement in clinical research projects.

Developing new research protocols to meet internal and federal guidelines for conduct of research. Preparing and maintaining regulatory documentation for submission of new and ongoing studies to the Institutional Review Board.

Mentoring and guiding research team members with less research experience to gain exposure and value from research projects.

Direction and organizing of research meetings with key internal and external personnel/entities.

Organizing and tracking all academic achievements and accomplishments throughout the department. Providing a report of the academics to department heads for annual evaluation.

Interviewing and hiring of research personnel to assist in research projects. Guiding these individuals to perform ethical and impactful research.

Integrating new software and systems into the division to aid in data collection.
