**_Accounts Receivable Specialist_**:

- Portland, Maine_

Responsibilities include:

- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in our accounting system
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Collaborate with billing team and attorneys to resolve billing issues and disputes
- Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status and performance to firm management
- Assist with month-end closing processes and audits as required
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls related to the accounts receivable function

Qualifications:

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or transferrable prior work experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
