**Title: Chief Administrative Officer Salary: $150 to $160 per year**

Reports to: President/CEO Major Responsibilities/Duties

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for managing and coordinating the administrative functions of the Black Veterans for Social Justice, Inc. (BVSJ or the Agency.) The CAO will provide input for business and strategic planning, set goals for BVSJ’s departments and individual Directors, collaborate with colleagues to implement policies and develop improvements, oversee resource allocations and budgets, and provide guidance to subordinate staff. Additionally, the CAO will resolve issues that may arise, ensure timely reporting to Executive Management and or regulatory agencies, and assist in duties such as fundraising and awareness events.

Significant Duties
- Oversees Human Resources (HR), Program Operations, Community Affairs, and Information Technology functions, staff, and departments.
- Coordinates specific management and staff training; and, generally, career and professional development.
- Set goals for departments and individual staff of oversight areas and administer overall performance review of areas of responsibility.
- Organize and coordinate inter and intradepartmental operations.
- Ensure timely reporting to Executive Management and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee software and hardware planning and acquisition functions in conjunction with technical staff and consultants.
- Conducts and reports on investigations for the insurance carrier and legal matters.
- Acts as CARF/Agency liaison to the President/CEO
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Agency's Strategic Plan
- Works with Executive Management staff to maintain reporting of financial and management functions.
- Works collaboratively with the Chief Compliance Officer to promote compliance and ethics within the agency.

**Effect on End Results**
- HR - Stabilize and enhance technologically and procedures in hiring, training, and evaluations.
- Program/Agency - Monitor and maintain operations through reporting and deliverables.
- Agency - Legal and insurance functions are maintained.
- Agency - Excellent HR services for all staff, timely payments, and knowledge about Agency functions.
- Agency - Procure computer and software acquisition for effective functioning and support Agency growth.
- Agency - Community knows of all in-kind and city, state, or federally funded services.

**Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field, with appropriate Credentials/Certifications or
- Bachelor’s degree, with the appropriate Credentials/Certifications.
- A minimum of five years of management experience with at least two years in HR leadership with a track record of implementing software systems.
- Strong strategic planning, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
- Broad knowledge of the organization's products, services, markets, customers, and competitors, as well as the external factors that affect the organization's success.
- Experienced in Leadership, Administration, and Operations in a similar or relevant industry with current knowledge of Human Resources.
- General understanding of various employment laws and practices.
- Experience managing and implementing various aspects of a business or non-profit corporation.
- Understanding of social services fields preferably with experience working with NYC Agencies
- Ability to understand and effectuate change management and organizational influence skills.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
