**Manager, Workforce, Entrepreneurship and Youth**

Improving Economies for Stronger Communities (IESC) is a leading U.S. nonprofit organization that catalyzes private sector growth and creates economic opportunity for people and communities across the economically developing world. Since our founding in 1964, we have delivered lasting solutions across 139 countries.

IESC is a valued partner to people and communities throughout the economically developing world. We share proven business skills and experience with entrepreneurs, jobseekers, businesses, farmers, cooperatives, and governments. We also offer resources—human, technological, financial—that sustainably build capacity and empower communities. Our long legacy of strengthening developing economies is matched by our vision for the next generation: a world with economic opportunity for all, where people and communities thrive.

Our major funders today are the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), among others.

One of our three practice areas is Workforce, Entrepreneurship and Youth. We are currently recruiting a Manager, Workforce, Entrepreneurship and Youth to be based in the IESC home office in Washington, DC to support the Workforce, Entrepreneurship, and Youth practice, managing a portfolio of programs. The Manager will play a central role between the home office and field teams with startup and implementation of the programs in the portfolio. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for the Workforce, Entrepreneurship, and Youth practice area, the IESC Manager, Workforce, Entrepreneurship and Youth allocates his/her time to both program management and to new business development. The Manager has administrative, technical, and management responsibilities related to the execution of specific programs in the practice area (including initial programs in Senegal and Djibouti). In addition, the Manager engages in specific new business activities under the guidance of the IESC practice lead responsible for that effort and working closely with the new business team. The Manager supervises an Associate, Workforce, Entrepreneurship and Youth. It is anticipated that the Manager will travel up to 20% per year.

Closing date: June 16, 2024

- Support the issuance and implementation of RFAs and Grants in accordance with the Grants manual.
- Respond to client requests and questions and ensure timely drafts and submissions of consents, approvals and/or waivers.
- Manage the financial relationship between the field and the home office including approval and review of cash requests, field expense reports, and budget review, as well as coordinate pipeline and accrual submissions.
- Manage, monitor, and report on budget expenditures and forecasting.
- Coordinate the employment of full-time field staff and fielding short-term and long-term technical assistance and volunteer projects.
- Manage the relationship with subrecipients or subcontractors on a program.
- Promote program success by collecting, writing, and distributing success stories, case studies, photos, and outreach at events.
- Support knowledge management within the practice including the capture and articulation of success stories, best practices and lessons learned.
