Western DuPage Landscaping is a family-owned business that offers landscape design, construction, and maintenance services to residential, commercial, multi-family, and mixed-use properties in the surrounding Chicago suburbs. Western DuPage Landscaping partners with its clients to create and provide special and specific solutions for them. Since 1976, we have focused on working with clients to create their best outdoor spaces.
**Position Overview**
Western DuPage Landscaping is currently searching for a Human Resources/Office Manager (HR/OM) to oversee Human Resources and assist with office management. The HR/OM will be responsible for managing policies and procedures, processing weekly payroll, recruiting, training, performance management, employee on/offboarding, employee benefits and compensation, workers' compensation, record-keeping of employee files, and managing other projects as assigned.
This is a full-time position, in-office, with the possibility of hybrid following 90 days of employment.
**Position Responsibilities**
- Work with the CEO to manage all human resource functions and prepare HR-related documents.
- Process and manage payroll.
- Maintain company handbook and conduct handbook training.
- Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, and 401k.
- Act as liaison with the insurance broker to handle employee questions and claims regarding benefits.
- Respond to and resolve employee issues and develop solutions; review and track corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
- Maintain confidential employee information, personnel files, and company records.
- Verify and maintain license certifications, criminal background checks, etc.
- Manage all Worker’s Compensation claims, files, logs, and reports.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Provide recommendations for HR best practices and regularly review policies to ensure compliance.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in employment laws and HR.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees.
- Verify invoices from vendors, ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
- Conduct monthly audits of benefits billing and alert the CEO when discrepancies are found.
- Manage the company schedule (organization calendar, holidays, company events, HR deadlines, and other relevant information)
- Update and maintain employee paperwork and employee files in HRIS or system of record.
- Ensure confidentiality of all HR information
- Oversee building management and maintenance - inspections, fire, alarm, etc.
- Prepare monthly reports for the CEO.
- Perform and/or assist with other duties as needed.
**Qualifications**
- Associates degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five+ years of work experience as a Human Resources Generalist with experience in payroll, benefits, and recruiting
- Demonstrated experience managing all aspects of Human Resources
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and function successfully as a team.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Bilingual-Spanish helpful
**Search Process**:
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
