**Essential Job Duties**:

- Experience working with youth, teens, adults in a recreation setting.
- Teaches, supervises, organizes, and instructs a variety of recreation activities and sports.
- Trains, schedules and supervises designated staff and volunteers.
- Assists with a variety of special events, recreation programs and sporting events.
- Provides guidance on work related matters and assists to resolve employee issues, if necessary.
- Coordinates and promotes special events, fundraising, advertising, and vendor coordination.
- Promotes interest in programs through publicity, flyers and social media.
- Ensures that recreation facilities and equipment are used properly.
- Receives and electronically enters registration and payment information.
- Promotes safety and ensures all appropriate laws, rules and regulations are strictly enforced and respected.
- Understands and agrees to working, at times, nights, weekends, and holidays as an essential component of the responsibilities.
- Safely transports participants to various programs by passenger van.
- Develops collaborative relationships with parents.
- Works well and in a nurturing spirit with children or adults with special needs
- Punctuality and regular attendance are essential functions of this position.
- Responds appropriately to situations that may require urgent medical care and attention.
- Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.
- Perform all functions and responsibilities according to the Palm Beach County Code of Ethics and Florida State Statutes 112.313.

**For the position of Cheer Coordinator**:

- Must have 5 years of cheerleading experience
- Organizes coaches, teams, and individuals in all aspects of cheerleading
- Teach cheerleading routines and implement these routines to various coaches
- Experience supervising adults and youth in a recreational setting
- Good communication skills and ability to work with parents
- Must be able to develop relationships and partnerships with local high schools
- Responsible for organizing cheer events throughout the year
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
- Travel to tournaments is required

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- **Associates degree or two years of college in a recreation field.**:

- ** Must have previous experience working in a recreation setting.**:

- ** Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License, with a good driving record. Must obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.**:

- ** Must obtain CPR with infant and child certifications ,AED ,and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire**
- Knowledge of fundamentals of recreation. Ability to plan, organize supervise and instruct special activities for youth, teens and adults. Knowledge of the City's policies,- **The abilities expected of all employees include being able to respond to supervision, guidance and direction of superiors in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies, be appropriately groomed and attired so as to present a professional image in accordance with the organization's mission, goals, and policies; report for work promptly and properly prepared at the time and place required by the assignment or orders; notify the appropriate supervisor of intended absences in accordance with stated rules; conform with standards and rules regarding use of accrued time; demonstrate a polite, helpful and courteous manner when engaged in any activity with the public; operate and care for equipment to manufacturer's specifications and/or within the specified parameters; demonstrate an understanding, consideration, and respect of cultural, religious, and gender differences when interacting with the public and colleagues.**

A comparable combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position, may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
