JOB OVERVIEW

The City of Hermosa Beach Isai is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Senior Recreation Supervisor. In this capacity, you will collaborate with the Community Resources Manager and work alongside Recreation Coordinators and part-time personnel to provide a variety of recreational services to the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver outstanding customer service through various communication channels
  • Oversee and mentor Recreation Coordinators
  • Manage part-time staff, including their scheduling, training, and payroll processes
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and leases
  • Assist in the preparation of budget requests and monitor expenditures
  • Supervise Theatre and Facility operations and coordinate special events
  • Facilitate Film Permit requests and provide support to the Community Resources Manager as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with supervisory techniques, recreation management, and facility operations; expertise in public relations and customer service; understanding of office procedures, record-keeping, and applicable laws.

Competencies: Ability to lead staff, interpret policies and regulations, utilize computer systems, prepare comprehensive reports, communicate effectively, and foster positive relationships.

Education and Experience: A degree in a relevant field with practical experience or substantial college coursework; a minimum of two years in a supervisory role is required.

Licenses/Certificates: A valid Class C California Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Environment: Duties will be performed in both office and recreational settings, requiring travel to various locations, working varied hours, and adapting to different environmental conditions.

Physical Requirements: The role necessitates physical capability, mobility, and the ability to lift objects, operate office equipment, travel, and engage in physical activities as required.

Vision and Hearing: Normal vision and hearing ranges are expected.
