**SUMMARY**: Provide students and staff a safe and properly maintained environment in which to learn and develop

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintains, cleans and adjusts electrical systems including but not limited to: lighting, motors, breakers, service entrance and related fixtures, equipment, and systems
- Performs preventative maintenance as directed and keeps accurate records
- Diagnosis trouble and performs assembly, disassembly and adjustments on a variety of electrical systems, repairing and replacing motors, switches, contacts, relays, solenoids, electric tools, light fixtures, ballasts, heating elements in furnaces, energy management system, and other electrical work
- Diagnosis and trouble shoots breakdowns. Disassemble, locate worn or broken parts and replace on all types of equipment
- Read schematics, layout lighting circuits, and wire up machinery
- Performs mechanical maintenance on equipment. Replace defective or worn out parts, including gears, shafts, bearings, belts, chains, etc.
- Keeps work area and equipment clean and in an orderly condition
- Makes time available when called upon in emergency situations to work other than their normal working hours if essential to do so
- Provides training to maintenance employees if needed
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
- Other job related duties as assigned

**Education**:

- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (**IVP**) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

**Experience**:

- Electrical installation, maintenance, and/or repairs
- Working knowledge and experience in electricity, energy management, and general building maintenance preferred

**Abilities**:

- Posses and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license with a good driving record
- Relates to public, staff and students in a positive manner
- Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals
- Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms
