**Job Summary**

Responsible for scheduling patient appointments, greeting visitors and patients, answering general questions, maintaining patient records, and communicating with Referring Providers and other medical professionals. Provides quality customer service in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner; serves as receptionist and coordinator of patient care.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Responsible for the on-time opening and closing of center, including locking and unlocking doors and setting the alarm.
- Demonstrate a positive professional attitude and provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Serve as receptionist, greeting and assisting visitors and checking in patients. Review and verify all patient documents and scan into their chart upon check-in. Collect any necessary payments from patients or responsible parties.
- Answer multiple phone lines in a courteous and timely manner. Respond to all phone inquiries and route phone calls appropriately. Must have excellent phone etiquette and voice clarity.
- Properly schedule patients for diagnostic imaging procedures and maintain the center’s schedule.
- Fill cancellations and openings in the schedule daily as needed and reschedule patients based on their medical and/or financial needs.
- Ensure accurate and detailed information in patient charts, including demographics of patients and Referring Providers, into the RIS.
- Confirm with Referring Provider the specifics of the orders, diagnosis, and any information needed for authorization.
- Review patient charts for daily appointments before confirming with the patient. Ensure all charts are updated and complete. Prepare and organize all patient documents for the following day’s schedule.
- Balance daily payment report and paperwork.
- Provide the utmost professional interaction and communication with and between the patient/family, center staff, referring physicians/staff, and radiologists.
- Maintain a neat and organized work area.
- Assist and maintain the cleanliness of the center, including waiting area, dressing rooms, and patient bathrooms.
- Participate in meetings and complete other tasks as assigned by management.

**Educational and Skills Requirements**
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year of customer service-related work in the medical field.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic radiological procedures in an outpatient setting.
- Knowledge of medical office practices and procedures and ability to understand and follow Physician and Technologist requests.
- Proficient in the use of office computer systems including Microsoft Office and RIS.
- Ability to multi-task and work with constant interruptions, e.g., welcome patients, answer phones, schedule exams, ensure accurate and complete paperwork.
- Ability to communicate and respond to questions assisting patients, doctors, and clinical staff in a professional manner.
- Ability to work various shift hours at various locations.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
- Ability to hold all information concerning patients in strict confidence and abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.

**Physical Demands and Work Environment**

The work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise levels. This job occasionally requires the employee to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, read, talk, or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee should never attempt to lift more than 25 pounds.
