**JOB PURPOSE**
This is an executive assistant role which takes primary responsibility for coordinating district level communications, overseeing reception duties and managing personnel data entry and reporting of the central office. This position assists with secondary responsibilities for human resources, payroll and other student and school data reporting

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinates initiatives designed to attract and retain employees and build a positive work culture
- Schedules and arranges all aspects of events focused on staff development, staff recognition or community engagement
- Tracks licensing information and provides support for licensing and salary advancement
- Enters staff data and completes personnel reports for state or federal purposes
- Carries out purchases and registrations for training or new programs
- Oversees files and tasks associated with training and professional development
- Composes general communications and documents for internal and external communications
- Makes evidence-based recommendations for the development and implementation of comprehensive and dynamic communications strategies for the district and schools
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Oversees the development and distribution of the newsletter and other regular communications initiatives
- Coordinate all public relations activities
- Develop messaging for the district to engage audiences and communicate across traditional and social media platforms
- Manages district social media
- Leverage existing relationships and cultivate relationships with families, employees, the community, and businesses
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Provide training and assistance related to all aspects of communications and human resources processes to staff
- Processes routine communications and documents relative to the area of responsibility
- Maintains files in paper or electronic forms relative to the areas of responsibility
- Sort and process all incoming and outgoing mail
- Serves as the first point of contact for those entering the office providing exceptional customer service
- Attends specialized training
- Assist with other duties in the office, including payroll, human resources and state reporting
- Assist with cleaning of toys, tables, materials, etc.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor(s).

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**
- Postsecondary education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree)
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Preferred at least three years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Experience in school communications and public relations preferred, or willingness to train and develop exceptional capacity in this field
- Ability to work independently and finish tasks to completion.
- Ability to collaborate and show good teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Appropriate technology skills; willingness to learn and use related technologies.
- Ability to effectively and respectfully deal with complex and/or sensitive information and situations in a professional and courteous manner
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to create and edit both written and visual content with creativity and attention to detail
- Must be able to accept supervision.
- This position performs daily duties in a typical office environment.
- Ability to learn and follow procedures and requirements from multiple local/state/national entities.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
