**Summary/Objective**:
BTAS is seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Manager with 10 years’ experience in Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition, 4 years in national security space/commercial space vehicles or launch acquisitions, and 2 years in Strategic Communication and Action Group experience supporting a Wing Commander/Director or above.

This Position supports the Space Systems Command (SSC) Commander, SES Executive Director, and Vice Commander in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-visibility and often time-constrained environment. It requires a breadth of experience across strategic communication, program management, contract management, systems engineering, financial management or other acquisition related functional areas.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Oversees Executive Support, business management and communication planning as a part of Strategic Communication Activities.
- Leads and manages multiple Business Operations processes.
- Provides oversight of strategic message planning efforts across the organization.
- Provides senior leader decision support to strategy development and implementation, integration, plan development, and plan assessment.
- Facilitates planning and strategy meetings related to program content development and objective setting and provides attendee management and communication, onsite meeting execution and oversight, post-event reporting and analysis.
- Continually evaluates the Directorate’s business operations and develops guidance, and incorporates process improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of business process.
- Leverages all available communication channels to execute communication campaigns across multiple platforms (conferences, in-office events, media relations, social media, website, etc.).
- Ensures synchronization and integration of all strategic message planning efforts between HQ AFSPC, SSC, and any other applicable partner organizations to support planning efforts that feed into larger enterprise-wide activities.
- Provides analysis and other assessments to ensure a quality product is presented that meets the intent of the tasking.
- Understands and accurately distributes tasks to the appropriate responsible Directorate(s) accordingly, supplying supporting references as available and managed with an emphasis on timeliness and accuracy to ensure same day distribution of tasks to applicable action officer or organization.
- Assigns and tracks appropriate suspense dates when distributing tasks and coordinates with appropriate stakeholders prior to task closure to include preparing response packages, as required, for General Officer-level review.
- Provides weekly status briefings regarding task management, including specific task details and timeliness statistics.
- Evaluates the task management process and with approval from the Government, develop guidance and incorporate process improvement initiatives to improve the timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of the process; providing formal or informal training to appropriate stakeholder, as required.

**Required Education and/or Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in DoD Acquisition.
- 4 years of national security/commercial space vehicles or launch acquisitions.
- 2 years of Strategic Communications and Action Group experience supporting a Wing Commander/Director or above.
- Excellent written and oral skills to write and develop key message points and support media engagements.
- Ability to understand and interpret documents and how they impact the SSC level from a Headquarters perspective.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
This position will supervise the work of others.

**Work Environment**:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

**Physical Demands**:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.

**Travel**:
Very little.

**Salary**:Competitive benefit package and salary commensurate with experience: range $115,000 - $170,000 USD.
