**Patient Access Coordinator - Medical Phone Receptionist**

**(Redondo Beach & Torrance)**

We are looking for an outgoing, personable individual to warmly welcome & assist our patients. Applicant must function at a high capacity in fast-paced environments, be able to prioritize tasks, and have great communication skills as well as be experienced in general front-office patient care and customer service. Must be a self-starter who gives their best in whatever they do. Looking for someone who will take responsibility for their work and carry everything they do through to completion.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Communicate with patients to set up and schedule optimal appointment times
- Gather and track medical information from patients
- Organize and input data into electronic health records
- Inquire and process patients’ health insurance
- Support office with administrative and secretarial tasks
- Communicate with internal office team and providers to ensure patients are helped and everyday tasks are accomplished
- Collect patient payments, deposits & credit cards for processing and posting to appropriate patient account
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patient delays for appointments and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Responds to inquiries by patients & prospective patients in a courteous manner
- Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
- Understand and maintain HIPAA regulations
- Other duties as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Efficient problem solver
- Strong knowledge of medical language and health insurance plans
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous medical office or receptionist experience
- Experience with computer programs, such as Microsoft Office
- Professional demeanor and appearance required
- Ability to be an active listener
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Customer service oriented, responding promptly to patient's needs
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to promote quality and efficiency, while monitoring own work for accuracy
- Reliable transportation required

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
