The Clinical Curriculum Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the operationalization of the clerkship and elective curriculum throughout the four years of medical school. The Manager oversees the team that coordinates various clinical educational experiences throughout the curriculum and functions as a vital member of the Office of Curricular Affairs team and reports directly to the Director of Curricular Operations, while working closely with the Curriculum Directors and the Senior Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs. There will be strong working relationships and partnerships with the Office of Student Affairs, Registrar’s Office, Student Health, course directors and coordinators, clerkship and acting internship directors and coordinators.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

SUPERVISION:

- Provide direct supervision of the curriculum program managers and coordinators. Supervision includes performance management, coaching, professional development, time management, conflict resolution for direct reports, workload management, and other standard supervisory responsibilities.
- Provide oversight and support to department-based clerkship and site coordinators, ensuring consistent delivery of policies, procedures, and logistics across all clerkships.

CLERKSHIP MANAGEMENT:

- Oversee the logístical aspects of clerkship curriculum throughout the academic year; prepare and launch the clinical curriculum for each academic year, develop and ensure processes and procedures are in place and being followed by faculty and staff
- Oversee NBME shelf exam administration in partnership with Chief Proctor, monitor and develop solutions for resource needs such as staffing, monitoring grade reporting, standardized use of learning management system, etc.
- Oversee the clerkship lottery assignments and electives enrollment.
- Partner with the registrar to ensure enrollment systems are up to date annually.

ELECTIVES MANAGEMENT
- Support the Director of Medical Student Electives in aspects of design and implementation of the elective curriculum for clerkship students, including policy development, communications, tracking of student status, grades, and evaluations, etc.
- Develop and maintain processes that streamline the electives process.
- Oversee the visiting student program (domestic and international) through the academic year, ensuring compliance and documentation is met.

COMPLIANCE
- Oversee the tracking of site-specific compliance requirements (immunizations, ACLS, BLS, other site requirements) to ensure seamless student access to sites.
- Partner with Student Health to develop timeline and delivery of year requirements.

SITE MANAGEMENT:

- Collaborate with other members of the curriculum team to support cross-site clinical training, consistency in assessment, and curriculum delivery.
- Oversee the transportation options to various sites as well as communication to students.

ADMINISTRATIVE
- Support and implement the faculty and resident development on changes related to the clerkship curriculum and electives through annual faculty development modules, meetings, and other methods.
- Maintain policies and procedures related to the clerkship and electives curriculum in accordance with LCME standards and best practices.
- Participate in search committees for key roles in the clerkship curriculum and subsequent onboarding and training.
- Support clerkship and elective curriculum subcommittee work and priorities.
- Serve as an informational resource for students seeking support services and effectively communicate requests and concerns from students to appropriate staff or faculty members.

**Minimum Education** BA/BS, Master’s degree desirable

**Minimum Related Experience** 3+ years’ experience in medical education, academic affairs, curriculum, or related field; management or supervisory experience preferred

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Demonstrated leadership competency and ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies (faculty, staff, students, etc.).
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Strong team player who promotes cross-team collaboration and inspires team members to work together and contribute.
