POSITION:

TITLE: Assistant Principals

To participate in Curriculum Development program such as intervention, assessments and core literacy-based enhancements and modifications, and others. (Up to 500 positions)

Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Learning

LOCATION:

New York City Department of Education, various locations citywide and remote.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly licensed and appointed New York City Department of Education assistant principal at a New York City public school participating in the New York City Public Schools Literacy Collaborative.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Must be an Assistant Principal at a New York City Public Schools Literacy Collaborative school in school year 2024-25 Commitment to work during the agreed upon schedule Excellent record of attendance and punctuality Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively on projects Demonstrated qualities of organizational and program management skills Evidence of sound interpersonal relationships with colleagues and/or professional partners

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend professional development training session facilitated by the Central Literacy Team Attend all curriculum program review sessions

WORK SCHEDULE:

September 1 to Fall 2024 and beyond, up to, but not limited to approximately 40 hours. Exact schedule TBD

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
