The Coordinator of Student Life is part of the leadership team responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of student activity of Student Life, Panther Peer Mentor Program, student leadership, and Civic Engagement programs at Florida Tech. The Coordinator is responsible for helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the Civic Engagement Initiative, which entails coordinating academic service-learning, campus-community partnerships and activities, hours/dollars raised input process, and others. The Coordinator will share responsibility with other professional staff members in Student Life in coordinating Leadership Development, Welcome Week, and additional theme weeks and educational programming.

Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain, edit, and manage the entire Civic Engagement Tracking System- Create and implement the Panther Peer Mentor Program and other student leadership programs- Recognize faculty, staff, and students by planning, implementing, and organizing the yearly recognition program for social service and civic engagement- Create and maintain partnerships with approximately 250+ non-profit agencies/campus partners. This includes meetings and board events both on and off campus- Coordinate and integrate all activities within the campus community for Florida Tech Civic Engagement Initiative- Plan, prepare, and create all Alternative Break Programs and similar programs- Assist in assessing all areas of the Student Life experience with the Dean of Students- Oversee the Welcome Week program with all departments and areas that are involved- Other duties as assigned with additional theme weeks, and educational programming

Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training and experience)- Minimum 0-2 years of relevant work experience required- Experience in student leadership development and student activities in higher education setting preferred- Strong commitment and previous success working within multicultural and diverse communities- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills- Innovative thinker with a vision for providing high quality services to students- Computer skills which include the ability to use social media- Ability to work non-standard work hours, including evening and weekends

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech’s 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
