**Food Access Manager**

**The Position**:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about increasing equitable access to food and food security in the Greater Boston Area. The Food Access Manager will oversee the administration, operations, and logistics of the food access programs and services of La Colaborativa. As operations rapidly scale, we are looking to bring an experienced manager to meet the growing needs of the community. This includes ensuring exceptional service to over 1500 weekly clients at our pop-up food pantry, mobile market sites, indoor market, and through our delivery services. This position will require supervision of staff, coordinating in-kind donations of food and household items, and guaranteeing a successful and positive volunteer experience. Bringing an entrepreneurial attitude, social commitment, creativity, and a team-mindset are expected and highly encouraged. A successful fit for the role will roll-up one’s sleeves, dive-in, and produce results utilizing the existing infrastructure and resources to meet current operations goals while making time to successfully and strategically improve the overall quality of the programs and services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manages the administration, operations, and logistics of the food access programs and services of La Colaborativa: the pop-up food pantry, food deliveries, mobile market, and indoor market.
- Manages and coordinates food inventory, food rescuing operations, food waste management, and volunteer management.
- Assists with administrative tasks, including documenting weekly and monthly key metrics of our clients visits, ordering inventory and supplies, and managing the database of clients and volunteers.
- Supervises food pantry employees and volunteers, creating weekly schedules, and promoting an environment of dignity, integrity, and mutual respect.
- Oversee maintenance and service requirements of equipment and materials.
- Establishes and expands partnerships and collaboration with donors and vendors.
- Welcomes clients and operates food distribution programs to a diverse client population.
- Ensures that volunteers and clients are adhering to the guidelines and protocols
- Establishes outreach efforts with other food pantries and foster partnerships with volunteer organizations.
- Ensures that all food access programs and services are up to code to adhere to the City of Chelsea, The Greater Boston Food Bank, and USDA standards.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with staff, fellow volunteers, and occasionally clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are necessary.
- Strong supervisory skills and proven prior program coordinator/manager experience is required.
- Computer proficiency and accuracy, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheet capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up La Colaborativa’s clientele.
- Support the agency’s mission of building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization for employees and clients alike.

**Special Requirements**:

- Experience in cultivating and expanding community partnerships.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Experience working in warehouse environments.
- Experience with driving a forklift is preferred.
- Sensitivity to the needs of the client population.
- Available to work a minimum of one Saturday on a monthly basis.
- Able to communicate proficiently in both Spanish and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a suitable CORI & SORI completed within the first 30 days of employment.
- Serve Safe Certification (preferred).
- This job regularly requires the employee to sit, walk and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. Willingness to perform physical labor including lifting, carrying, unloading and moving of food products (10 to 40 pounds) is required.

**Employment: Full-time position (37.5 hours/week)**

**Salary**: 67K - 70K per year.
