The Opportunity:
The Region Sales Director Achieve growth and hit regional sales targets by successfully managing the sales team. Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands Avantor’s customer base and ensure it’s strong presence. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status. Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.

The Region Sales Director will have the opportunity to lead a team and sell Avantor's large portfolio of products and services to a diverse set of current and prospective clients in New York City and surrounding area. The Region Sales Director will provide ongoing leadership, coaching, development, support, and direction to the Region’s 8 to 10 Sales Representatives; ensure effective territory management and achievement of assigned sales, profit, and expense goals.

The Region Sales Director will manage a multi-dollar region and with responsibility for creating and implementing successful strategies to further penetrate and segment the market, consisting mainly of large, integrated, and global clients. This diverse territory includes Education, Medical, and Research customers.

What we’re looking for:
- Education: College degree or equivalent experience required- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience establishing high level customer relationships and account development and implementation- Collaboration Tool: Experience with Microsoft Office products

How you will thrive and create an impact:
- Hire, train, and set expectations with all sales associates in the region- Continually evaluate associate progress and performance- Provide formal and informal sales training to all sales associates in assigned area- Develop programs and selling strategies to motivate sales force and stimulate sales- Develop and maintain sound customer and supplier relations- Directly handle contract negotiations for key accounts- Prepare sales and gross margin forecasts for region territories and analyze and monitor sales data for the region- Monitor and manage key product sales- Successfully interface with internal customers and service providers such as NCO, Furniture division, VWR Specialists and Business Process Consultants- Perform other duties as assigned- Strong industry knowledge and negotiation skills- Strong customer focus (internal and external)- Good presentation skills- Good coaching skills- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects- Strong communication skills- Good interpersonal skills- Organization skills- Conflict resolution skills- Problem solving skills

Pay Transparency:
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$117,000.00 - $195,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
