The Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP) mission is to ensure safe and competent patient care by licensing health professionals, enforcing standards of practice, and providing information to health care practitioners and the public.

The Licensing Supervisor provides professional licensure and operational support for the Board of Social Work; provides the primary professional licensure support for the Board by independently supervising licensing process, coordinating daily operations and activities related to the Board, and providing support to the Deputy Executive Director and Executive Director.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Considerable knowledge of administrative functions and processes within an office, including file maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with agency personnel, board members, licensees, and the public, including the ability to prepare official documents and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and proofread routine correspondence, agendas, meeting minutes and reports with close attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workflow to accomplish duties in a timely manner.
- Ability to research relevant documentation and/or applicable Board policies and procedures to ensure quality service and accurate response.
- Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets, formulas and graphs to prepare reports.
- Experience working with mínimal supervision in a customer/public focused service environment.
- Proficiency in word processing, Microsoft Office, database management systems, grammar and punctuation standards.
- Demonstrate ability to independently manage and supervise employees, including the ability to establish and evaluate performance goals.

**Additional Considerations**
- Experience working in administrative or related field, with experience in meeting or event planning, progressively coordinating administrative projects and business/operations transactions, office practices and customer service, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Experience in a regulatory environment, knowledge of various office systems, including licensing data base systems, state travel guidelines, Administrative Process Act (APA), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), laws/regulations governing health professionals and licensure, and working with public in a fast-paced environment.
