- This position is 1 of 2 supervisors managing the permanency programs: foster care, adoptions, Fostering Futures, Resource Families, Title IV-e Benefits & Adoption Assistance.
- Essential Duties:

- Provide direct supervision & support to foster care, adoptions & fostering futures staff:

- Individual supervision;
- Interviewing, hiring, training & onboarding new staff;
- Case documentation review for accuracy & compliance with federal, state & local policies and laws;
- Participation in VEMATs, FPMs, FAPT, Court and other child and family-related meetings and activities; and,
- Support grant activities related to Title IV-e, Respite, Independent Living Services & Education & Training Vouchers.
- Maintain current program knowledge for foster care, fostering futures, adoption, adoption subsidy, and foster and kinship resource families.
- Gather statistical data related to foster care and adoptions, program outcomes & community needs.
- Provides on-call supervisory support to child welfare staff providing after-hours coverage for CPS, Prevention, and foster care.
- Participation in unit, division, agency & community meetings and on committees and task forces related to the work of the department.
- Participate on the Department’s leadership team working on strategic planning & best practice initiatives such as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, worker retention & trauma-informed best practices.
- Occasionally participate in activities outside of normal business hours around foster parent recruitment, foster care & adoption support and celebration activities.
- Participation in shelter team operations as designated by the Emergency Operations Center.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- The person in this position must possess considerable knowledge in:

- Social work practice, particularly as it relates to working with family systems and the identification and treatment of substance abuse, mental health diagnoses, delinquency and other issues related to child welfare work;
- Child welfare best practices, casework supervision and staff development practices; and,
- Strong working-knowledge of trauma-informed best practice in child welfare and how trauma and resiliency impact children, their families and child welfare staff.
