**Human Resources Manager Position**

The Human Resources Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources department for The Opportunity Tree.

**Employee Workforce**
- Engage in recruitment activities;
- Review and generate recruiting sources, create recruiting advertisements, and post and monitor jobs posted both internally and externally.
- Direct the hiring process;
- Review and sort resumes', distribute acceptable resumes', conduct pre-screening interviews, and schedule appointments for interviews as necessary.
- Ensure the new hire process is accomplished;
- Review and update the process as needed to include but not limited to onboarding, orientation, and update of/creation of forms.
- Assess and revise the new hire training as necessary.
- Manage employee files and records;
- Creation and revision of employee forms as needed.
- Maintenance of current and former employee records in compliance with applicable laws.
- Termination process;
- Ensure Company policies and procedures are followed to include compliance of the Corrective Action Process before a decision of termination is established.
- Recommend, authorize, or gain approval for terminations of employees.
- Review the Employee Counseling Record regarding employee terminations.
- Assist supervisors with terminations as necessary to include receipt of company property from the terminated employee.

**Employee Development**
- Liaison with the training and development vendor.
- Update existing internal employee training, develop new training for employees, create in-services, and present the training as needed.
- Coach and give guidance to supervisors in the motivation and development of their staff.
- Guide the performance evaluation system;
- Revise and create performance evaluation forms as necessary.
- Monitor and ensure the annual performance evaluation process is completed with fairness and consistency.

**Employee Relations**
- Communicate The Opportunity Tree policies and procedures to employees and monitor for compliance.
- Administer The Opportunity Tree Conflict Resolution Procedure.
- Investigate, mediate, and resolve employee complaints or concerns.
- Receive work behavior issues or violations of policies and procedures, research and examine the issues, give guidance to supervisors for correction of behavior issues, and assist in the creation of Employee Counseling Records as necessary.

**Employee Benefits Administrator**
- Manage the benefits for employees throughout the year to include but not limited to enrolling newly eligible employees, termination of benefits, and resolution of employee issues regarding benefits.
- Manage the workers' compensation program.
- Receive and process the unemployment benefits claims.

**Human Resource Strategy**
- Make recommendations to the management team regarding improvements to the human resource functions for The Opportunity Tree.
- Align updates and the creation of human resources policies, procedures, training, and forms with those of The Opportunity Tree.
- Communicate and instruct on the human resources policies, procedures, training, and forms.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Current driver license with Non-Restricted Vehicle Record and compliance per the requirements of The Opportunity Tree’s insurance carrier.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write, speak, and listen effectively in English.
- Education: Four-year degree preferred with a preference in non-profit management, communications, business, or public administration.
- Knowledge: Intermediate in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, web browser (experience with other required software).
- Personal enthusiasm for participation in a non-profit organization, which provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Positive attitude and ability to represent The Opportunity Tree effectively in the community. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with Members, staff, families, funders, and stakeholders.
- Successful completion and maintain all required training which may include CPR, First Aid, Article 9, and Prevention and Support.
- Successfully meet AZ-DPS requirements for Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Reliable transportation and travel for The Opportunity Tree business.
- Supervisory skills to include but not limited to knowledge of management principles in staff interaction and task productivity, leadership abilities, problem identification, and resolution administration.
