I’RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization in New York City. Our Empire Afterschool Program at P.S. 178 in Brooklyn, NY is looking for one dedicated, committed, and enthusiastic Full-time Afterschool Program Director to lead our Afterschool Program.

**Pay**:$50,000 per year

**Duties and Responsibility**:

- **Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and manages all IRAISE after-school staff,** including evaluating and assessing their needs for ongoing professional development
- Manages all aspects of the elementary school the after-school program, ensuring a creative quality education and youth development experience for all participants
- Develops and regularly revisits instructional plans for each grade level, with the objective of supporting all members in becoming academically proficient and developing the life skills and attitudes necessary to achieve high school graduation
- Collaborates with Schools Facilities Director to ensure program space is safe, functioning optimally and meets SACC requirements
- Manages staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage. Provides last-minute coverage in classrooms as needed
- Manages site expense, ensuring quality program implementation within budgetary limits
- Develops and maintains a strong relationship with school staff, including scheduling regular check-ins with the principal and community school coordinator and participating in collaborative partner meetings
- Builds strong relationships with parents by leading parent orientations and meetings (ideally in English and Spanish); connecting daily at pick-up time, making phone calls regarding student attendance, attitude and participation; encouraging participation in I'RAISE and school celebrations; and organizing workshops, family nights, or other events that would increase parents' connection to and involvement in their child's school and education
- Compiles data and tracks students for program evaluation and reporting
- Other duties as assigned based on department and/or organizational needs

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Education** OR, Social Work, Management or related field And, 18 credits in Education related college courses**:

- 2 years of experience with business background, working with youth and children, managing a youth program, hiring, training and supervising staff.
- Strong interpersonal, team development, supervision, program management, organizational, and management skills
- Strong expertise in one of the areas: Fine Arts, or Music, or Theater, or Sports
- Must have received clearance from OCFS and DOE, and completed relevant child care program-related trainings and courses
- Strong understanding of SACC requirements and contracts with NYS, OCFS and DOE
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
