**About the Role**

The Director, Distinguished Events will provide direction and leadership for the Foundation’s signature fundraising events and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) & Companies donors portfolio. They will serve as a vital member of the Development team and be responsible for ensuring that all fundraising and communications activities relating to distinguished events are utilizing best practices in reaching ambitious fundraising goals as well as organizing and leading signature events for the organization.

**About the Team**

At the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Revenue Group includes development, marketing, and communications functions, driving innovation and outreach across multiple channels, maximizing impact, and achieving significant, sustained revenue and brand growth. The Revenue Group supports the mission and vision of the organization through the engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, corporate partners, public agencies, and foundations and seeks to advance the organization’s visibility.

**Responsibilities**
- Generates revenues of $2M annually for U.S. Soccer Foundation programs through select Distinguished events - inclusive of a 500 attendee Anniversary Gala & other HNWI exclusive fundraising events.
- Provide concepting, leadership, strategy, and successfully executing all aspects of an Anniversary Gala, as well as all fundraising activities in the distinguished event space.
- Accountable for the team's achievement of significant revenue targets for a complex portfolio of HNWI priority relationships, account management, fundraising activities and distinguished events.
- Engages, recruits, stewards, trains and manages relationships with corporate and HNWI donors and supporters to successfully execute fundraising plans and achieve revenue Special Event goals.
- Ensures the implementation of best practices for revenue growth, drives and encourages creativity and innovation resulting in new revenue opportunities associated with special events (i.e. virtual events, gamification, live auctions, experiential fundraising).
- Monitors financial expenditures and progress to large scale six-figure event budgets.
- Build and manage the donor prospect list, ensure that information is being tracked on a timely basis, and that progress toward goals is tracked and monitored.
- Assist with donor screening to help identify new donor prospects and manage the screening process.
- Identify and track new prospects through referrals, research, and outreach.
- Carry a donor portfolio of 50-100 donors with the potential to achieve the $2M fundraising goal.
- Provide project management leadership for each event ensuring all components are successfully executed - including working across departments of CEO, Finance, Board and Marketing & Communications.
- Work with corporate sponsorship colleagues to coordinate asks and sponsor requests.
- Create and maintain event budgets; efficient management of events to ensure that established revenue goals are met while staying within the approved budgets. Manage event expenses to achieve acceptable cost to raise a dollar.
- Strong event committee management skills to ensure accountability and success of each event.

**About You**:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with at least 3 years of leadership experience.
- Prefer at least 8 years of experience in direct revenue generation, with large-scale event planning, and demonstrated success as a primary avenue of fundraising experience.
- A proven track record of successfully achieving annual and event fundraising goals over a sustained period of time.
- Demonstrated track record of leading high-end Distinguished Events, including securing Honorees, scale committee management skills to ensure accountability and success of each event.
- Ability to effectively interface with HNWI, structure 7-figure gift commitments, and influence senior-level executives with tact and diplomacy.
