Overview:
TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is currently seeking an **Accounting Clerk** in **Stockton, CA** to join our team.

The pay range for this position is $27 - $33 an hour.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Prepares and submits customer invoices.
- Code, post invoices in accounting system.
- Prepares and coordinates deposit activities.
- Performs all necessary account, bank, and other reconciliations.
- Research and solve payment discrepancies.
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and delayed payments.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
- Maintains financial security by following internal control.
- Process weekly accounts payable payments in accounting system.
- Check, verify and enter invoices for payment.
- Sort, code and enter accounts payable data.
- Prepare payments for signature.
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
- Collect, confirm, and process timesheets.
- Process employee time in payroll system.
- Verify taxes and other deductions.
- Process payroll taxes and garnishments.
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks.
- Track employee paid time off and other time off work, i.e., FMLA/CFRA.
- Provide administrative support for the Accounting Supervisor.
- Update, verify and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial reports.
- Assist in month-end reporting procedures and analysis.
- Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
- Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies.
- Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Business errands using company vehicle.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- AS/AA degree in accounting, business or equivalent required.
- BS/BA degree in accounting, business or equivalent preferred.
- 2-3 years of accounting/finance work experience.

**Pre-Employment Requirements**:

- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Work primarily in an office environment.
- Frequently sits for extended periods of time.
- Frequently use a computer keyboard and office related equipment.
- Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping or bending.
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
