Are you interested in wildlife conservation? Begin your career working directly with management programs that help conserve California's big game species The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Wildlife Branch has an exciting opportunity in our Game Conservation Program for an outgoing and resourceful person to support staff conducting resource planning and assessment, regulations, and environmental review. This person is responsible for supporting the Deer, Elk, Antelope, Bear, Bighorn Sheep, Waterfowl, Shared Habitat Alliance for Recreational Enhancement (SHARE), and Private Land Management (PLM) programs.
The Fish and Wildlife Scientific Aid classification is a non-testing classification.

Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of California's big game species.
- Knowledge of wildlife survey and capture methods.
- Wildlife biology, ecology, and taxonomy (e.g., ornithology, mammalogy, herpetology, etc.).
- Conduct on-line research of scientific literature and write at a college level.
- Word processing and data entry skills; ability to work in a busy office environment.
- Good organizational skills and ability to keep accurate records
- Experience with GIS and R
